MindanaoHerald | P42M is set aside by Davao City for “Pasko Fiesta.” | DAVAO CITY – An official said Wednesday that the city government has set aside PHP42 million for holiday events called “Pasko Fiesta sa Davao 2023.”
The head of the Davao City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO), Jennifer Romero, said that the budget covers all the events for Pasko Fiesta, which starts on November 28.
Romero told the press here, “The budget comes only from the local government unit.” He also said that the decorations include a 50-foot Christmas tree, ornamental lights, and a model train.
“This is the first Christmas that we don’t have to follow the COVID-19 rules, so we expect the Dabawenyos to have a wonderful Christmas,” she said.
On November 28, there will be the Dan-Ag Davao and the Pag-abli sa Pasko. From November 29 to December 25, there will be the Panayegon sa City Hall or a series of Christmas chorale concerts at Rizal Park; from November 30 to December 3, there will be the Grand Christmas Bazaar; and from December 1 to 15, there will be the Pasko Fiesta for Indigenous People and other sectoral groups, where welfare goods and other gifts will be given out.
Another name for the party is the Paghinugyaw – Sugat sa Bag-ong Tuig. It will happen on December 31. (via PNA)
