Mindanaoherald | Davao City will establish additional verdant spaces to promote health and well-being | DAVAO CITY – The City Environment and Natural Resource Office (CENRO) is planning to establish two additional verdant spaces and two additional parks this year in order to enhance health and well-being.

In an interview on Friday, Engr. Marivic Reyes, the chief of CENRO, announced that Toril Park and Roxas Greenway Park would be incorporated into the city’s 27 existing parks, playgrounds, and green spaces initiatives in the next few months.

“The public will have the opportunity to unwind from the daily stresses of urban life by establishing green spaces in the city’s densely populated areas.” Reyes stated that the local government acknowledges public parks and verdant spaces as a means of enhancing the physical and mental well-being of Dabawenyos.

The public was granted access to Los Amigos Park and Doña Vicenta Park by the local government last year.

It also inaugurated two parks along the city’s Coastal Road: the Gulf View Esplanade and the Bago Esplanade.

According to Reyes, the city has also inaugurated numerous pocket parks, including the Communal Pocket Park in Mutual Homes, Barangay Communal, Matina Linear Park on the McArthur Highway, and Candelaria Park on Quimpo Boulevard.  (via PNA)
