Mindanaoherald | Bukidnon distributes P22-M housing units to impoverished residents | CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The provincial government of Bukidnon distributed 67 houses valued at PHP22.5 million to indigent beneficiaries on Thursday. These beneficiaries included those who lost their residences in a fire last month.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between the provincial government and the local government of Don Carlos, according to Governor Rogelio Neil Roque. The local government supplied the lots for the houses.

“It is imperative to provide housing or shelter, particularly for the underprivileged.” He stated in a statement, “Initially, it addresses the fundamental need for safety and security.”

Having adequate houses, according to Roque, fosters economic stability by allowing individuals to more effectively pursue job and education opportunities.

The new community, which is now known as Paglaum Village, was constructed in Barangay Don Carlos Sur and was concluded on February 22, 2024. Construction commenced on December 1, 2021.

The list of beneficiaries of the housing initiative, according to Mayor Victoria Pizarro, encompassed those who were impacted by the fire on June 1.

In the interim, the local government of Malaybalay City has finalized the renovation of a swine production center in Barangay Casisang, which incurred a cost of PHP2.6 million.

The Dalwangan Malaybalay United Dairy Agrarian Reform Cooperative was also granted PHP761,000 by the Department of Science and Technology to assist the group and the Malaybalay City government in their endeavors to innovate the local dairy industry. (via PNA)
