MindanaoHerald | To foster unity and values, cities in Bukidnon observe Family Week | CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The National Family Week observance is being observed in Valencia and Malaybalay, both of which are located in Bukidnon. This event is intended to underscore the importance of promoting strong family values and the nation-building process.

The “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day” was observed by government employees in both cities on Monday. This day permits for an early dismissal from work, relocating the end of the workday from 5 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The initiative, according to Valencia City Mayor Azucena Huervas, is intended to foster Filipino family unity and relationships by means of significant activities that emphasize fundamental Filipino values.

The celebration was also confirmed by Malaybalay City Mayor Warren Pabillaran, who also confirmed that essential public services would remain operational despite the early work suspension.

Pabillaran stated that the work suspension does not encompass scheduled activities and meetings unless other offices also elect to observe it.

In accordance with Proclamation No. 60 (1992), which designated the last week of September as Family Week, and Proclamation No. 326 (2012), which designated the fourth Monday of September as “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day,” the local orders are issued in accordance with a circular from Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
