MindanaoHerald | Over 17,000 4Ps recipients in NorMin were made more efficient with PhilSys | CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The information of 17,740 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) recipients in Northern Mindanao has been added to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys). This is to improve social welfare services, cut down on waste, and make sure that government aid is given out as quickly and easily as possible.

Ramel Jamen, head of Social Welfare and Development for Region 10 (DSWD-10), said that working together with the Philippine Statistics Authority Region 10 (PSA-10) on the Philsys integration shows that both organizations want to make Filipinos’ lives better.

“By integrating 4Ps beneficiaries into the PhilSys, we are creating a foundation for more targeted, efficient, and accountable social welfare programs,” Jamen stated in a release on Tuesday.

Providing cash help to needy families through the 4Ps program is a key part of the country’s efforts to fight poverty, he said.

PhilSys is the government’s central identification tool. Its goal is to give all citizens and resident aliens a single, reliable way to prove who they are.

PSA-10 Officer-in-Charge Janith Aves said that by adding 4Ps recipients to the PhilSys, the DSWD and PSA are working to improve service delivery and make social welfare programs more open.

“Through PhilSys, we are building a more inclusive and digitally connected society,” said Aves.

Both organizations urged all 4Ps recipients who were qualified to take part in the registration process. This will be done in registration areas set up by province.

The PSA also told people who haven’t registered or gotten their e-PhilID yet to do so right away, because the agency wants to reach its goal of registering 92 million people by December of this year. (via PNA)
