DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) gave out the grants, which are worth a total of PHP14.2 million. They “serve as a seed capital fund for the associations to finance their proposed livelihood projects,” DSWD-13 said in a statement.

Twelve groups from Burgos, San Benito, and San Isidro, as well as eight groups from Dapa town, each earned PHP5.4 million in grants to help them make a living.

Twelve more groups from the cities of Del Carmen, General Luna, Pilar, and Santa Monica also got grants worth 5.4 million Philippine pesos.

Mariel Camba, the DSWD-13 SLP social marketing officer, said in an interview that most of the 32 associations’ projects to make a living are related to trade and making things.

Camba said that SLP helps people improve their productivity through a variety of projects that help them make a living. (via PNA)
