MindanaoHerald | A P18-M building is given to the farming school by BARMM | COTABATO CITY – It was given to Upi Agricultural School (UAS) in Upi town, Maguindanao del Norte, by the education office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The school has two floors and ten classrooms.

The PHP18.2 million school building is the first and largest structure that the UAS has gotten since it was founded. It was given to it by officials from the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE-BARMM), and the school administrator, Engr. Sukarno B. Datukan, accepted it.

“It’s crazy that Upi Agricultural School has been around for 104 years and has only now gotten this kind of big project.” “It was the dream of the school’s leaders, and now it’s come true,” Datukan said in a statement Thursday.

The building has 10 classrooms, and each one can hold 50 students. This is helpful for the 500 college students who are taking agriculture and similar classes.

Upi Mayor Ma. Rona Cristina P. Flores, for her part, thanked the MBHTE for picking the town of Upi as one of its program recipients.

Piang told Municipal Councilor Saidie Lidasan, who spoke for her, that Upi Town has gotten many development projects from BARMM, and they are very grateful for this school building.

Mohagher Iqbal, Minister of MBHTE-BARMM, said that the ministry’s result in better teaching in BARMM was due to “unending efforts, initiatives, and programs to address all the unique needs of MBHTE’s stakeholders.”

Under the General Appropriations Act for Bangsamoro in 2023, Iqbal said that another project worth PHP42 million is planned to pay for the UAS housing. (via PNA)
