MindanaoHerald | 19 Caraga LGUs were named for having anti-drug groups that work BUTUAN CITY – The Department of the Interior and Local Government in the Caraga Region (DILG-13) said that 19 local government units (LGUs) in the area will get national awards for having anti-drug boards that work well.

On Friday, DILG-13 said that the 19 LGUs in Caraga are among the 246 cities, towns, and provinces in the country that will receive the 2023 National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards.

The report said that the anti-drug councils of these LGUs met the required functionality measures and carried out illegal drug interventions in their areas.

The office said, “The 19 LGUs were also able to take steps to help reduce drug abuse in their areas of jurisdiction.”

There are seven municipalities in Surigao del Norte that give out LGU awards. These are Bacuag, Claver, Mainit, Malimono, San Francisco, Sison, and Tubod. There are also five towns in Agusan del Sur: Loreto, Rosario, Talacogon, Trento, and Veruela.

Also getting the award are Cagwait, Hinatuan, Madrid, Tandag City, and four towns in Surigao del Sur. Also getting awards are Cagdianao and Loreto in Dinagat, as well as the municipality of Jabonga in Agusan del Norte.

For the award celebration, DILG-13 said it will take place at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Ortigas, Quezon City, on November 22. (via PNA)
