MindanaoHerald | PH builders are being asked to build more tourist infrastructure | DAVAO CITY – Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Leo Tereso Magno asked the Philippine Institute of Architects (PIA) Davao Sector to help the government build tourist-friendly facilities.

In a statement released on Thursday, Magno said that tourist-friendly facilities offer more significant chances for the tourism industry in the Davao Region.

“It will not only bring in new investments and tourists, but it will also boost our economy and create more jobs,” Magno said.

As the guest of honour at the 35th Anniversary of PIA Davao Sector on Wednesday (16 August), Magno said that focusing on building tourist-centered infrastructures “will be a win-win situation for us in the government, the people in Region 11, and you, the architects who will make the whole region a must-visit place.”

“It’s important to hire architects for every building project because they add creativity without sacrificing the stability of the building,” he said.

In June of this year, the PIA Davao Sector opened the 18th Mindanao Design and Construction Fair, which was called the biggest construction show in Mindanao up to that point.

Magno said that as tourism grows, peace, safety, and security also need to be protected.

Magno, who is also the Cabinet Officer for Regional Developments and Security (CORDS) for Southern Mindanao, made sure that the Davao Region stays safe and secure from all dangers.

This week, Magno met with police and military leaders to talk about the security situation and plans for the region.(via PNA)
