MindanaoHerald | Tax tracking technology will help Oroquieta City make more money | CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Caraga State University (CSU) have given a tax tracking technology to the city of Oroquieta in the province of Misamis Occidental. This technology could help the city make more money.

Rogelyn Calago, a DOST-Misamis Occidental science research specialist, said in a statement on Monday that CSU and the LGU recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to digitise the real property tax (RPT) mapping processes of the assessor’s office of the local government.

Calago said, “We hope that this project will help move the city towards its goal of becoming a city that can support itself economically.”

Calago was talking about “MapX,” a wide-ranging answer for mapping and evaluating real estate that uses advanced geoinformatics technologies.

Calgo said, “Improving tax mapping operations with MapX is just the first project for Oroquieta City’s Smart and Sustainable Communities Programme.”

With MapX, the City Assessor’s Office in Oroquieta City will be able to easily look at and map real estate units. It also wants to improve the way tax tracking is done, which can increase RPT collection and bring in more money for the city.(via PNA)
